Best Storytime EVER!

Hip, Hip, Hooray! We finally made it out of the house today and safely made it to our favorite Wednesday storytime. It was such a small group today (just 5 kiddos total and usually about 15-20 plus parents) that Nolan and Carson really got to have some one-on-one interaction with the teacher, Susan. She read a book about fire-trucks (extra bonus!) and we did lots of singing. Nolan was right up there having conversations with Susan about dogs, bubbles, snow, you name it! It’s amazing to watch him become more and more comfortable with this routine week after week. In fact, we were playing with the puzzles and rocking chairs when Susan called us into the storytime room. I watched Nolan, by himself, get up and follow her into the room (not even looking for me) and walk straight over to the name-tag table in search of his name-tag! I’m just so proud of that little guy. He’s getting brave, yes, but I know he’s getting more comfortable with the idea of storytime. It’s such a treat for him (Carson too) and he talks about it all the time at home. It’s so cool to have something like this that Nolan genuinely looks forward to. We love our storytime outings!

Afterwards we spent awhile browsing for books. As you can see, Carson found it lots more fun to crawl through the bookshelves. He also thought it was really funny to pull out the metal bookend supports and fling as many books off a single shelf that he could get his little hands on. He found a paperback Diego book and wore it has a hat and then started getting so silly with it that he ripped the cover right off! I tucked it back behind some other books so hopefully it won't get noticed (at least not for awhile!). I've noticed the librarians at Corey Eiseley are sooo much more laid back that some others we've visited. And when you have a couple of toddler boys you're draggin' in with you, that's a very good thing!

Gotta see those pictures.

Singing the "Open, Shut Them" song.

Carson thinking, "How does he do that?!"

Silly chairs we found in the "Latino" section of the library. Nolan said he was sitting in daddy's golf net (and these chairs look exactly like Noah's golf net in our garage!) He's so smart!

"Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!"
