Today the boys made and decorated Valentine cupcakes. We made a special trip to Walmart this morning to pick out all of our stuff. I predicted sprinkles would be our biggest splurge - and they were. These kids love sprinkles! I think we bought 5 different jars. The hardest part of this activity was waiting for the cupcakes to bake, and then waiting for them to cool off enough so we could actually start frosting and decorating. There was a lot of time in there to kill, and as it turns out, Charlie's dog food bin provided that down-time entertainment we were looking for! Sorting, stacking, and sifting through the different dog food shapes really did it for them. Don't worry, hands were thoroughly washed and scrubbed before any frosting began! Interest in the actual decorating process didn't last as long as I had hoped for, but I think they enjoyed themselves. The poor cupcakes, on the other hand, endured finger pokes, knife stabs, and in a few cases, complete and total mutilation. But all in the name of love, right? I mean, these are Valentine cupcakes! (Needless to say, the boys were immediately transported to the nearest bathtub after the cupcake decorating).

I think this pic is so funny! It looks like Carson is glancing at some hidden recipe card before he starts! |

Carson: "So are we gonna do this or what?" |
And here we go! |

Excellent pour, Nolan! |
"That's called teamwork!" As Nolan would say. |

They just gave each other a high-five. |
Under the table in search of more sprinkles. |
"Yep, think I found one." |
Ta-Da! |

The end result. |
Squeaky clean and just about ready for nap. |
Love this face! |
