This afternoon Noah and I took the boys to the indoor playground at Mahoney State Park. I've wanted to try taking them for awhile, but they have really weird hours. They're only open three days during the week from 4-8 PM, which considering the drive is nearly impossible for us. On Saturday they're open from 11-8 PM. The boys were up waaay too early this morning so we put them down for naps much earlier than normal and headed to Mahoney around 1:45. It was absolutely CRAWLING with rowdy, wild, rambunctious kids...mostly from the 5-8 year range. (I should note that these kids weren't "rude" or aggressive, there were several birthday parties taking place and I think they were just super hyper). Obviously, it was very loud and there were so many kids running around that it was so easy to get knocked into, or even knocked over.
Nolan was initially pretty hesitant and unsure of getting on the equipment, but he ended up having a super fun time. Carson had a great time too. In fact, Carson went down the longest tunnel slide in the place all by himself. I was pretty amazed at that, simply because he doesn't like the enclosure slides. He does great with open slides, but tunnel slides always seem to spook him. It was such a long ride down and I was so scared he was going to start doing somersaults on his way, but he made it in one piece! :) Noah and Nolan pretty much stuck together, and I took care of Carson. We did meet up a few times, but Nolan wanted to take off in one direction and Carson in another. With the crowd today, it would have been impossible to do this alone. I had to laugh because when I did meet up with Noah, he was dripping in sweat!! If you ever decide to try this playground and want to accompany your child on the equipment (which is allowed), just note that you will be crawling through very tight, small enclosures with extremely low hanging ceilings. It takes some serious work to move around through this place!!
Video of Carson in the ball pit. I was losing it because his little head was the only thing sticking out!

Hilarious! Big ball, little head. |

The boys both loved slamming into these things. |

With that haircut, he's sure looking like a big kid! Good job, Noah! :) |

In the "big kid" ball pit. Nolan joined right in with the ball throwing fight! :) |

Gotta love that profile. |

We took a little hike after the playground. It got pretty chilly, so we didn't stay out too long. |
