A trip to Barnes and Noble

This morning the boys and I went to the Southpointe Barnes and Noble for another storytime. We haven't yet been to this storytime before and it was really neat. There is a little 3-D forest area that replicates the Hundred Acre Woods from Winnie The Pooh and there are little minature benches for the toddlers to sit on during the story. Today's challenge was just trying to keep Carson out of the forest area while the teacher read since he was really interested in those trees. At one point, as Nolan was majorly losing interest in the stories, he decided to really stretch out on the bench. Later Carson ventured over to a little train table and was playing there with a 4-year-old (the boy you see in the picture with Carson isn't Nolan, but this other kid). He yelled at Carson shortly after this photo was taken because he thought he needed to have all the trains in his possession. Carson ran away crying and I had to go back there and straighten things out. His mom came over and caught me off guard a bit, but I stood my ground anyway! :) I just told him that everyone gets to play with the trains, it's here for all of the kids to use. I hate it when parents don't correct their kids, in turn putting the other parents in this uncomfortable situation where they feel it's their job to say something. Ugghh. That always happens to me!

On the move!

Listening closely.

A forest setting.

This book kept Carson on his toes...literally.

Getting bored...

Finally Carson gets to check out that forest!

Picking out colors from the basket.

What, mom?
